Sprig Punch Wreath

I love using our products for more than just cards.  When I saw the new Sprig punch, I immediately saw individual wreath sprigs and new I wanted to make something for my office door.

I used our Adhesive Sheets to make it easier to apply the sprigs to the wooden wreath base.  The colors are Lemon Lime Twist, Garden Green, Mossy Meadow, and all three colors from the Peaceful Noel Glimmer Paper (Tranquil Tide, Copper, Merry Merlot).

After I had it all put together, I attached my double bow using our Reversible Merry Merlot/Copper Ribbon and our Linen Thread.  Then, I spritzed it with our Frost White Shimmer Paint mixed with 70% Rubbing Alcohol, and added some of our Red Rhinestones.  This wreath really has some sparkle and shimmer to it that is just AH-WESOME!.

Hopefully this wreath will inspire you to think “outside the card” with our products.  Our coordination is in a league of its own!  Show me your creative uses for this punch in the comments below!

All of the items you need are linked below and are available in my online store.   Want to get all of these items at a discount?  Use the link above to join my team and put these items in your starter kit!

RIP Big Shot – Have to wait for new one!

After 9 years, my Big Shot has retired.  We took it apart and tried to fix it, but the metal housing broke – for those that may not know, its the part in the picture that has the rollers and pulls the sandwich through.  We took it to see if it could be welded back together, but it would cost as much to do that as it would to buy another one.  So for now, I am without a Big Shot.

TIP:  Only use ONE Shim, no matter how many times you have to run that sandwich through – even if its 2 AM and you’re exhausted and frustrated from popping paper out of dies!!  I got away with using two shims for the Botanical Gardens dies, but when I switched dies to the butterflies, my Big Shot committed suicide and shot itself (at least that’s what the pop it made sounded like).

broke big shot

I would go ahead and buy another BUT, the new catalog has a new platform in it, and I was going to buy it anyway.  We saw it at #OnStage2016 and it is awesome.  So, I’m going to tough it out until June 1st so I can just order a new Big Shot, PLUS get the new platform included.  The $$ I’m saving by waiting, and not buying the new platform itself in a few weeks = YAY MORE NEW GOODIES!!!  I know $26 may not seem like much, but for us stampers, who are we kidding – that’s a new stamp set!!

Now the sad part… the demonstrator preorder has begun for the new catalog and if I buy dies, I cant use them until I get my new Big Shot.  However, I CAN use the new embossing folders since I have my Textures Boutique!

When I first started stamping 9 years ago, I didnt have a Big Shot, Stampin Up didnt even sell them.  Now I get to remember how to “stamp” without it – this could be fun!

Now let the waiting begin!

Building my New Site – #Imbringingbirthdaysback

I am in the process of building this site so that I can share my love of stamping with you! To kick it off, I wanted to share a birthday card I sent out this morning to support the Social Media Campaign that was started by Shannon West, #Imbringingbirthdaysback.

The campaign was created to help bring back the sending of cards for birthdays and other occasions.  Over the past few years, technology and Social Media have caused us to send fewer cards.  Instead, we just email, or post to a Facebook wall, or Tweet, or whatever to the person wishing them Happy Birthday.  Stampin Up wants to change that!  Even with Social Media, who doesn’t still love to receive a card??  Let’s face it, a post on a Facebook wall just isn’t the same.  Yes, it is cheaper and more convenient, and with the reminder Facebook sends you, it’s on time and you didn’t have to be organized or embarrassed if you forgot.

In order to participate in the campaign, myself and some fellow demonstrators have posted on Social Media that anyone that wants to can send us their birthday and mailing address, and we will send them a handmade card for their birthday – no questions asked.  We have received an enormous response with this!!

Today, I am sending this card that I received from Marilynn Bennett using the Beautiful Bunch Stamp Set and coordinating punch as a swap from #OnStage2016.  Isn’t this just lovely!

birthday card

I am going to have a Menu heading on this site that I will post all the birthday cards that I send and another Menu heading for all the cards that I received at #OnStage2016.
