Today’s card was designed using our wonderful Well Said bundle in the Occasions Catalog. I was lucky that I received the stamp set when I attended Stampin’ Up’s OnStage event held in Orlando. (Psst… if you join, you can win attend these events too and win awesome stuff!).
There are 24 dies in this bundle and 51 stamps… thats a LOT of phrases and combinations you can make, just think of all the possibilities. And the mix of scripted and plain text sentiments is all the rage right now, and let’s face it, its a good rage!
The key to this card is using the adhesive sheets when running your pieces through the Big Shot. It makes the assembly so quick and easy… just like peeling and applying stickers. The alternative would be to use our tombow glue with a sponge and apply, but that makes a mess… and of course you could always use our fine tip glue… but why in the world would we want to?? The adhesive sheets are fabulous and a must-have if you get this bundle – trust me, its worth it!
Dont forget this is the last week of Sale-a-Bration too! So, if you purchase the bundle, and the adhesive sheets, you will earn a FREE Sale-a-Bration stamp set… and if you add $13.50 in product to your order, you can earn 2 FREE Sale-a-Bration items, or a Level 2 item! You do NOT want to miss out on getting FREE stuff!
You can see and purchase all of the items I used by clicking on them below and adding them to your order. My online store is ALWAYS open for business, 24 x 7.
This is one of the cards we made at my June Handmade is Awesome class featuring the Painted Glass Bundle and coordinating Graceful Glass Designer Vellum. The ladies in the class loved this card, and the vellum over the bright new in-color, Pineapple Punch, really makes it pop! Our new Stampin’ Blends color so well on our Graceful Glass Designer Vellum, and the vellum comes with the images pre-printed so you all you have do is color!
TIP: You can color either side of the vellum with the Stampin Blends. For a darker effect, used the side with the raised black outlines and the Dark Blends. For a lighter effect, color the “flat” back of the vellum.
TIP: Use just a little of our Liquid Tombow Glue on the corners of the vellum to attach it, and you will not see the glue through the vellum.
If you would like to attend one of my classes, email me today! Or you can place an order for any or all of the products used in this card by going to my online store (link above).
After 9 years, my Big Shot has retired. We took it apart and tried to fix it, but the metal housing broke – for those that may not know, its the part in the picture that has the rollers and pulls the sandwich through. We took it to see if it could be welded back together, but it would cost as much to do that as it would to buy another one. So for now, I am without a Big Shot.
TIP: Only use ONE Shim, no matter how many times you have to run that sandwich through – even if its 2 AM and you’re exhausted and frustrated from popping paper out of dies!! I got away with using two shims for the Botanical Gardens dies, but when I switched dies to the butterflies, my Big Shot committed suicide and shot itself (at least that’s what the pop it made sounded like).
I would go ahead and buy another BUT, the new catalog has a new platform in it, and I was going to buy it anyway. We saw it at #OnStage2016 and it is awesome. So, I’m going to tough it out until June 1st so I can just order a new Big Shot, PLUS get the new platform included. The $$ I’m saving by waiting, and not buying the new platform itself in a few weeks = YAY MORE NEW GOODIES!!! I know $26 may not seem like much, but for us stampers, who are we kidding – that’s a new stamp set!!
Now the sad part… the demonstrator preorder has begun for the new catalog and if I buy dies, I cant use them until I get my new Big Shot. However, I CAN use the new embossing folders since I have my Textures Boutique!
When I first started stamping 9 years ago, I didnt have a Big Shot, Stampin Up didnt even sell them. Now I get to remember how to “stamp” without it – this could be fun!
Now let the waiting begin!
